Dolce Suono’s “mostly Baroque” spring concerts in Society Hill have produced some of their most likeable outings. This year Dolce Suono’s artistic director and founding dynamo, flutist Mimi Stillman, will join guest harpsichordist Matthew Glandorf and two Dolce Suono regulars in sonatas by Bach and Corelli. The guest vocalist will be Academy of Vocal Arts resident artist Allegra Da Vita, singing a spectrum of Baroque arias that includes one of the peaks of the vocal repertoire, “Dido’s Lament” from Purcell’s opera Dido and Aeneas. If this edition is as good as its predecessors, there should be no better way to spend an April afternoon.

Dolce Suono Ensemble will present “Court and Country” on April 17 at 3pm at Old Pine Street Presbyterian Church, 412 Pine Street, Philadelphia. General admission tickets are $30; seniors $25, and students $10. They’re available online, by calling 267-252-1803, and at the door.
