David Lynch passed away in mid-January, and the repertory tributes are finally starting to roll in for the filmmaker who once lived in and was inspired by Philadelphia. Ritz Five is having a five-week Lynch retrospective throughout April, titled Filmmaker Focus: David Lynch, starting with the documentary about his artwork, and then four of his films.

The Philadelphia Film Society, meanwhile, has announced that a full-on Lynch retrospective will arrive later this year, but in the meantime, they will spend the spring showing films that inspired aspects of Lynch’s work, called In Dreams: David Lynch, which will continue through June.

Meanwhile, the Ambler Theater will feature Lynch’s Blue Velvet, at the perfect-for-that-film time of 9:45pm as part of its 35mm film festival. Then, while it’s not an old film, PhilaMOCA will host a 35th anniversary celebration for Lynch’s Twin Peaks on April 8, with Deputy Hawk (Michael Horse) in attendance. The same theater will show a new documentary called I Know Catherine, the Log Lady on April 9, with an encore on April 17.
