From 1974 to1976, Long Island native Mike Boryla was the Eagles’ starting quarterback. But the Stanford alum would suddenly depart football for a wide-ranging career including tax law, mortgage banking, and now, playwriting and acting. January will mark his first trip back to Philly in over 35 years, and he’ll be telling his own life story in the Skinner Studio, sharing the truth about why he walked away from football and the epidemic of brain injuries suffered by its titans. Special community talkbacks will invite perspectives from legislators, professors, medical experts and notable NFL veterans.

The Disappearing Quarterback, written and performed by Mike Boryla and directed by Daniel Student, is coming to the Plays and Players Theatre, 1714 Delancey Place, from January 16th through February 2nd. For tickets ($20-$30) and more information, call 866-811-4111 or visit www.playsandplayers.org.
