BSR's own Ilene Raymond Rush reads for Philadelphia Stories
Ever wonder what our illustrious BSR writers are like in person? Find out when contributor Ilene Raymond Rush reads her new piece, out in the latest issue of Philadelphia Stories magazine, at Fergie’s Pub on Sunday, June 22.
The nonprofit organization Philadelphia Stories was founded in 2004 to serve the “writing, reading, and art community of the Greater Delaware Valley,” and its quarterly print magazine, free for the taking at over 200 Delaware Valley locations (including every branch of the Free Library of Philadelphia), features high-quality local writers and artists.
Besides BSR, you can find Rush’s work in the Inquirer, and her essays, fiction, and reporting have appeared in many national publications, from Reader’s Digest to Cosmopolitan to the Washington Post. A National Magazine Award nominee, she has also won an O. Henry Prize for her short fiction.
What’s her latest story about?
“A heartworm pill, a marriage, and a dog named Britney Spears.”
We’re intrigued.
Hear from Ilene Raymond Rush and other Philadelphia Stories authors at the group’s summer reading at Fergie’s Pub, 1214 Sansom Street, Philadelphia, on Sunday, June 22 at 4pm. The reading is free and open to the public.
