The Knights are a New York-based orchestra that plays not only the traditional chamber repertoire but also an eclectic array of other genres, including jazz and rock (Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix). Béla Fleck is a virtuoso banjo player known for his willingness to change — and combine — genres. (Here's a BSR review of a 2010 concert.) They’ll all appear Thursday night in Easton, when Lafayette College presents them in concert at the Williams Center for the Arts.

The Knights’ newest album, being released on January 27, is an exploration of the concerto grosso entitled the ground beneath our feet, and the album’s title track will be performed as the culmination of the concert. Also on the program are Fleck’s Concerto for Banjo and Orchestra, John Adams’s Chamber Symphony, and selections from Rossini’s Barber of Seville.

The Knights and Béla Fleck are coming to the Williams Center for the Arts, 317 Hamilton Street, Easton, PA, on Thursday, January 29 at 8pm. Tickets are $33; available online or by phone at 610-330-5009.
