Art Alliance offers Chinese calligraphy workshop

The Art Alliance is offering a workshop introducing the tools and techniques of Chinese calligraphy taught by Hua Hua Zhang, a Beijing-born, Philly-based puppetry artist who runs the performance company Visual Expressions. Each participant will create a work of art he or she can take home. Billed as being for children seven and up, it’s actually an opportunity for people of any age to interact creatively with this ancient art form.
The Way of Calligraphy: Saturday, November 16, 2013, from 10:00-11:30 a.m. at the Art Alliance, 251 South 18th Street. Tickets are $10 per child, $5 for members. The child’s parent/guardian, who must accompany the child, can attend free. You can read more here.
