Philly drag king Simone Lawrence joins Darnelle in the virtual studio to talk about her own journey from muralist to drag king, why community is central to the art of drag, and how she organized The Coronation: An All-Black Drag King Show and Art Exhibition. This interdisciplinary event features a fine art gallery, including works by Cyrus K. Stratton and Gemini Mxr, who will also perform in the show alongside Manny Lovett, Mo Betta, Mister Right, and many more.

The show is happening at Callowhill's Prism Arts Philadelphia on Saturday, November 16. Doors will open at 6:30pm, and guests can peruse the gallery until the drag show starts at 7:30pm. Early bird tickets are sold out, but you can still get $25 advance tickets, and it's $30 at the door.
