Martha is a researcher, policy analyst, editor, theater critic, and dramaturg. Born and raised in Michigan, she attended school and worked in many American cities (including Boston, Washington, D.C., Chicago, and Philadelphia) and currently lives with her husband in Manhattan. Martha Wade Steketee has worked as a researcher, policy analyst, editor, theater critic, and dramaturg. She reads scripts for theaters, festivals, and competitions and has been a production dramaturg in Chicago and New York as well as a visiting artist in theater criticism at the Goodman Theater in Chicago, and Young Playwrights and Primary Stages in New York. She has served on theater awards committees (Jeff in Chicago, Drama Desk in New York) and currently sits on numerous boards, including American Theatre Critics Association, Literary Managers and Dramaturgs of the Americas, and League of Professional Theatre Women.

Born in Michigan, she is a past resident of a number of cities including Cambridge, St. Louis, Ann Arbor, Pittsburgh, D.C., Chicago, and Philadelphia, she now lives happily in New York City with her husband, no pets, and far too many books.
