Lew Whittington is a Philadelphia based arts writer. His articles on the performing arts appear in the LGBTQ online magazine EdgeMediaNetwork and other publications including Philadelphia Dance Journal, Dance International, American Record Guide and CultureVulture.

Lewis Whittington is an arts journalist based in Philadelphia. He started writing professionally in the early 1990s as a media consultant for AIDS organizations and then as a theater and dance reviewer for the Philadelphia Gay News. He covered dance, theater, opera and classical music for the Philadelphia Inquirer and City Paper.

His profiles, features, and stories have appeared in the Advocate, Dance International, Playbill, American Theatre, American Record Guide, the Harvard Gay and Lesbian Review Worldwide, EdgeMediaNetwork, and Philadelphia Dance Journal. He has received two journalism fellowships for dance and music writing.

In addition to interviews with choreographers, dancers, writers and directors from every discipline. His commentaries on GLBTQ activism and gay culture have appeared in Philadelphia Inquirer, Philly Weekly, City Paper, and the Advocate.

He is an amateur photographer of flora, fauna, and Philly architecture and is currently looking for a publisher for two volumes of poetry if you know anyone.
