Back in January, I mentioned in this space that we had lost longtime BSR music writer Tom Purdom, who also had an acclaimed science-fiction career going back to the 1950s. I knew I wanted to write more about him, but it wasn't easy, especially while the loss was so fresh. Because I was so much younger than he was, he took a humorous pride in announcing me to others as his editor. This week, I'm finally ready to share some memories. We'd love to hear yours, too.
Our coverage this week includes a look at a burgeoning multigenerational arts and culture hub in Old City (I loved learning why its new installation is called POMBAA), the Angry Grammarian onstage, the latest from Inis Nua, and Dreamgirls at McCarter.
Next week will be even busier: we have more theater, the Philadelphia Ballet, music reviews including Carmina Burana, and more coming your way. And our most loyal readers should look out for some announcements soon about exciting events we have on deck for this spring.
