Comedy doesn't get talked about enough as an art form. Inspiring laughter in a crowd of strangers is not easy—it takes a skilled observer with a sense of whimsy about the (often devastating) world around them. It takes diligent, careful writing that requires a self-aware, authentic voice with a sharp, accurate hand at the pen and pad. I'm no professional funny guy myself. I'm just a fan. And I can't sing comedians' praises enough. That's why we're glad that Next In Line Comedy is trying to make comedy more accessible for both its audiences and comedians. Read our latest preview about them.
Then, catch some more classical music in the area—it's been a busy month for the Interludes. We also preview an incredible dance performance with Watercolors. And if you're looking around for more, be sure to check out this week's roundup, too.
Be funny, Philly!
