When we hit December and get rain all day, like we did yesterday, it's pretty dreary -- but I also breathe a sigh of relief that it's rain, and not something colder that would really throw a wrench in the works (especially when it's dark as midnight by about 4:45pm).
Like a lot of us over the next few weeks, BSR team members will launch ourselves into the darkness for many holiday gatherings and events, which seem to be back full-force this year (the flu vax is well-adapted for this year's strains, so get it now, along with your Covid booster, if you haven't already, and reduce your risk of getting seriously ill after a party). We're hosting our own party -- a virtual one (you're welcome) -- in the last week of December. It's going to be a fun and freewheeling discussion of our favorite books and streaming picks of the year, and it's open to our staff, writers, and Friends of BSR.
We also have an annual rest coming up: we won't be publishing during the final week of the year, as our team takes a much-needed break. If rest is sounding good to you about now, don't miss Kyle's Supine Horizons review. The experience is open through December 20.
