Hi Friends! Editor-in-chief Alaina coming to you today to say thanks to everyone whose new and longtime support helped to power our writers through another busy Fringe Festival and launch us into an extraordinarily busy new season.
I'm writing tonight because our Friends get first chance to RSVP for our November 21 webinar, which we'll be announcing to subscribers tomorrow. This is a new live session of our popular "HELP US HELP YOU" 90-minute Zoom class all about the fundamentals of arts and culture PR. This class, which debuted a year ago, is designed to help local artists and small/grassroots cultural institutions build their publicity toolkit. It'll also interest anyone who wants a behind-the-scenes look at arts journalism and the BSR team.
Here's the link to RSVP. The cost is a suggested $25 donation to BSR, but you attend free! To register, hit the "Get Tickets" button on the event page. Then select one ticket where it says "Support BSR with a full-price $25 donation." And then enter the code BSRFriends in the "promo code" box immediately above. The price will jump to zero, and you can hit Check Out to complete your registration. (Please don't share the promo code; it's just for our Friends!) If you have any trouble, shoot me an email at [email protected].
Yes, the webinar will be recorded, so you can attend live or later, though of course we recommend attending live so you can join in the Q&A with our guests, who are experts on the Philly arts PR scene.
We also wanted to let you know that we're having another of our "office hours" gatherings. These are informal meetups where writers and Friends can mingle with the editors, get to know each other, and share ideas for BSR stories. We're gathering from 4-6pm at Elixr Coffee in Center City (207 S. Sydenham Street) on Thursday, November 14. Below is a photo of Alaina, Kyle, and Neil from our last meetup, so you can spot us! We will aim to be in same area, which is a square of banquette seating on your left as you enter the coffee shop.
Whether it's on Zoom for the webinar or in person for our November 14 office hours, we hope to see you next month! Here's that webinar link again. You make our work possible, and we can't thank you enough.
Sincerely,
Alaina, Kyle, Neil, and whole BSR team
