There's a lot we could say as we kick off our first Wednesday newsletter of the year, but first we just want to say thanks! In 2023, we hit a new record for individual donations. As journalists in the digital age, particularly in the arts, we feel like we constantly have to reinvent our own jobs while we do them, which means traditional editorial work alongside fundraising, programming, outreach, and partnership-building. When our readers respond with material support, it powers our heart for the work as well as our bottom line.
The winter season will swing into gear in the coming weeks, and we're looking forward to running our usual wide-ranging mix of dance, museums, music, and theater, including world premieres at the Arden and InterAct. And look out this Friday for the first BSR in the Wild mailer of 2024, to find out where our staff is heading in January.
