I want to start this week off by thanking our newest Friends of BSR, who stepped up in advance of the 2023-24 season, which will kick off in just a few weeks. It's a big job to plan, produce, publish, and promote BSR throughout the year, and it's a wonderful feeling when readers affirm our work in such a material way.
I had an excellent summer break over the last two weeks: I took every opportunity to go swimming, got sunburned while watching dozens of dolphins off the coast of Cape May, hugged my nieces, read a pile of books, and celebrated my 40th birthday. But we're back to our desks!
This week, we're remembering Sinéad O'Connor, and heading to People's Light, Bucks County Playhouse, and the American Philosophical Society. We're also looking back at this year's BlackStar Film Festival, with reviews of three top films. We're glad to be back with you.
