November is one of those months that I feel like gets lost in the calendar a little bit. Save for an election and Thanksgiving (one of my least favorite holidays—not trying to hate, it’s just not for me), November is smushed between the beginning of fall, Halloween, Christmas, and other cultural events, traditions, and celebrations. The month often comes and goes, but yet, there’s always some revelation that happens somewhere in the mix. I’ve had a few, and they were met with growing pains—but I’m hoping they steer me in the right direction.
One way to gather that is to refresh with some exhibitions, workshops, plays, and concerts. We profile Rashid Zakat’s new exhibition—which has been open since October but has a cool live performance attached to it coming this weekend. And our weekly roundup, which stretches into next week as well, gives us some peaceful and reenergizing ways to kick off the holidays—which can be a difficult time.
Be good, Philly!
