We’re going to keep doing what we do best: lead conversations about local arts.
Unlike many other orgs, when you get these messages from us, they are not drafted by marketers or consultants or fundraisers. That is not to devalue the work of marketers, consultants, and fundraisers. We just mean to say that the people in your inbox asking you to give to BSR are the very same people who keep BSR running every day. We hope our passion comes through. And we’re proud to say how involved we are in multiple aspects of this work. We’re the ones out and about in the region. We’re the ones having coffee with new leadership from peer organizations. We’re the ones hauling ice into a writer happy hour. We’re the ones messaging each other at 10PM about reader emails. We're the ones running tech for our webinars and fussing with software.
We need your support in 2025. Some of our funding sources are shifting focus. We rely on individual readers like you to keep us going. Every dollar counts in a lean budget like ours, with 85% of our annual revenue going directly to our writers and fully remote staff. Become a Friend of BSR (starting at $5/month) or a Local Media Champion ($19/month in honor of our 19th year). When you join at those levels, you can enjoy our recorded webinars. Friends also attend most BSR events free, from our writers’ meetups to our online offerings, and they get special discounts and giveaways throughout the year.
Help us keep BSR running as local outlets like ours face an ever-steeper climb to stay in business, not to mention societal resistance to art and freedoms. Donate here as we look forward to our 20th anniversary and to continuing important conversations.
