Gregory King

Gregory King holds an MFA from Southern Methodist University. He has performed with Donald Byrd/The Group, the Metropolitan Opera, and in The Lion King on Broadway. Mr. King serves as visiting assistant professor and Consortium on Faculty Diversity Fellow at Swarthmore College.
Gregory King received his MFA in Choreographic Practice and Theory from Southern Methodist University. In addition, he is certified in Elementary Labanotation. His dance training began at the Washington Ballet and later at American University. He participated in the Horton Project in conjunction with the Library of Congress. Gregory has performed with the Washington Ballet, Erick Hawkins Dance Company, Donald Byrd /The Group, the Metropolitan Opera Ballet, New York City Opera, and in Disney’s Lion King on Broadway.
He has served as resident guest artist at Temple University and assistant professor of dance at Dean College. Recently, Gregory received the Excellence in Teaching Award from the National Society of Leadership and Success.
Gregory is a dance writer for thINKingDANCE, The Philadelphia Dance Journal, and Broad Street Review. He is a visiting professor of dance and a Consortium on Faculty Diversity Fellow at Swarthmore College, where he teaches Modern and Laban Movement Analysis.
